Kolkata: #Steve Smith and #David Warner not being in the Australian team against India is like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are not in Team India. Australia will miss both of them in the series against India. Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly feels the same. India has to play T20, Tests and ODI series in Australia. The Australian team can go without Smith and Warner, along with #Cameron Bancroft in this series. All three have been banned for ball tampering in Cape Town Test against South Africa.

Australian Cricketers Association demand ban removal: The Australian Cricketers Association (ACA) has demanded the ban removal from #Cricket Australia (CA). However, there have been indications that CA is not ready to remove the ban quickly. Smith and Warner have a year-long ban and Cameron have nine months ban.

Ganguly said on Wednesday, “It is a big deal, it is as if the Indian team goes without Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, considering the bowling attack of India, it is a golden opportunity to win the series in Australia.”

Ganguly said, “It is a great moment for Indian cricket, this team of India is good and its bowling attack is fantastic. I saw in England that the bowlers of India had taken 20 wickets in every match.”

The former captain said, “However, you have to keep in mind that Australia is a completely different team in their home. Many people think that they are weak at the moment but I do not think so.”

India has to play four-Test series in Australia. It will start in Adelaide Oval from December 6. India’s best performance in Tests in Australia was in 2003-04, then it was equivalent to the series 1-1.
