England fast bowler Stuart Broad has spoke out about his thoughts on playing against the tainted Pakistani fast bowler Mohammad Amir. It is very clear from what Broad has insisted that he won’t have any issues playing against Mohammad Amir who is about to make his Test return on July 14, at Lord’s.

It was the same venue (Lord’s) where six years ago the talented left-armer from Pakistan along with his two team-mates (Mohammad Asif and Salman Butt) were involved in the deliberate bowling of no balls. Amir was a teenager at that time, therefore had the sympathy from the Cricketing fraternity. Although, he was sent to jail by an English court and banned from taking part in any Cricket event worldwide for five years. Amir has served his ban now and has been included in the squad for the four match Test series against England starting next month.

Stuart Broad speaking at an event on Monday said : “I don’t think any feelings will be dragged into this Test match from that one. There are only four players in (this) England team from then, and Pakistan had a huge change-over, so I don’t think any ill-feeling or negativity from the players will have carried through.”

Turning to Amir’s possible return, Broad said: “I think he’s served his time. As far as quality is concerned, I don’t think there is much doubt that he is up there with anyone. I’ve not played him for six years, but in 2010 he was a constant threat. It swung round corners for him.”

However, Broad feels that “The crowd might be a different story. There was a lively reaction to Ben Stokes dismissal at Lord’s last year, and it looked like a nasty atmosphere for a while.”
