Virat Kohli Says I Am Giving My Best As Captain, Fans Do Not Support One Or Two Players, Support The Entire Team.

People raise any number of questions on Virat Kohli’s leadership capability but the Captain of Indian Cricket is not uncomfortable. In the Eve of the Second Test Press Conference at Lords, he said, ‘Being a Captain, I am doing whatever I can. Everyone has different ideas about captaincy, but I believe I have good communication with every player. And it is important for a captain to be in the right mindset. It is a matter of respect for me to be the captain of our national team.’ After losing the first Test after the ODI series, former England captain Nasser Hussain had questioned his captaincy. He had said that in the Test against England, Virat Kohli should not have sent Ravichandran Ashwin out from field to rest.

Earlier, in the special reception program given to Indian Team by Indian High Commissioner YK Sinha in London, instead of focusing on only one or two players from the fans, Kohli called upon the entire team to support. Many senior diplomats, business heads, and renowned personalities were present in this program. Kohli said, “We like to play with each other as a team and play very passionately. I would just say to the fans that they should support the whole team because we all are trying our best. We all want to win together. This is not the issue of anyone’s personal or one or two players, this is a case of Team India being together and everyone should enter the field with the same passion.”

He said, “Coming to London and meeting people who love this game, has always been amazing. The whole team has shown a great game. We lost the first Test, but we lost by a very small margin. And I believe we will win cricket at the Mecca Lords. And we will go ahead to win this series.” India is trailing 0-1 after losing the first match in the 5 Test series.
