TEST WIVSIND

Virat Kohli led Indian Test side will begin their seven-week long tour of the West Indies on July 9 with two warm-up matches, then the action will shift to Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Ground Antigua, where the first Test is scheduled to be played from July 21. Sabina Park Jamaica will host the second Test from July 30. Third and Fourth Test are scheduled to be played from August 9 and August 18 in Darren Sammy National Cricket Stadium, St. Lucia and Queens Park Oval, Trinidad respectively.  The Cricket boards of both the countries confirmed it on Thursday.

At the beginning the series was in doubt after the Dwayne Bravo led West Indies side pulled out of the India tour midway in 2014 series because of central contract issue with the West Indies Cricket Board. The Board of Control for Cricket in India dropped a $42 million damages claim against the West Indies Cricket Board in April over the forsaken tour after WICB agreed to play in India in 2017 to complete the series.

West Indies Cricket Board head of operations Roland Holder said “all four venues are ready to host the visiting Indian team”.

The last time Indian team toured the West Indies was in 2011 after winning the ICC Cricket World Cup and in that tour India won the three-match Test series 1-0 with Rahul Dravid playing a pivotal role in India’s victory. Although this Indian team doesn’t have as much experienced as the previous touring teams were had, but this Virat Kohli led Indian side quench for success is undeniable.
