That moment was the deciding factor for the Indian cricket that was to come in the coming years. MSD debuted with the Indian team in 2004 and played against Bangladesh in his first match. He was soon to become the captain of the Indian t20 team and bring glory to the country by winning the first edition of the ICC T20 World Cup in 2007.
He did not look back after that. India became the number one Test side under his captaincy. Dhoni has brought many laurels to Indian cricket, the biggest being the world championship during the 2011 ICC World Cup. India recently won the ICC Champions trophy 2013 under his captaincy.
