What anyone can write about  a great Technician of , anything we  write, it will be only 10-20% of his records and life. but still I am trying my best to cover maximum part of his cricketing and personal life. Lets us proceed:-

Personal Life

He borned on 11 jan 1973 in a marathi bhramin family indore, Madhya Pradesh. He started playing cricket at the age of 12 yrs and represented U-15, U-17 and U-19 for karnataka state. He married with Vijeta Pendharkar , a surgeon from Nagpur on 4 May 2003.

Both are in good relationship  and have two childerns , one is Samit born in 2005 and other is Anvay born in 2009.

Cricket Career

HE started his cricketing career at the age of  12 and represented his state karnataka in U-15, U-17, U-19.he played 164 Test match, 344 ODI and scored more than 24,000 international runs . Most surprising Fact about him is that he has a one and only Wicket in his name and the most unlucky man was Ridely Jacobs, west indies in 2001-2002.

 

Test Debut:- 20 june 1996, against England in 2nd Test of series

ODI Debut:- 3 april 1996 against SriLanka in Singer Cup in Singapur, he replaced vinod kambli just after 1996 WC.

–  He was Test player of The Year and Player of The Year in 2004.

– He was 1st Non- Australian to deliver the Bradman Oration in Canbeera.

– Till 2004, HE was only player to score Century against all ten test playing nation.

– He has a record of most number of catches by a player(non wicketkeeper) in test cricket is 210.

HE retired from international ODI cricket in 2011, from international cricket in 2012. but still he continued in IPL and champion league till 2013 .

After Retirement

– In 2014, he joined the Gosports Foundation, Banglore as a member of their board of advisor.

– With this foundation  he mentor india’s future olympians and paraolympians.

– HE has his own foundation Rahul Dravid Athlete Mentorship Programme.

Now the most important News is that He agreed to coach India-A and U-19 Indian Team.
