After the match winning inning in the  league match at Kensington Oval, Barbados against West Indies, Australian all rounder Mitchell Marsh said that he was left ‘speechless’ by Maxwell’s match winning effort against West Indies. Maxwell played an explosive knock of unbeaten 46 runs of 26 balls with 5 fours and 2 sixes which cruise Australia into the Tri-Series Final. Maxwell had come back  in the Australia’s Playing Eleven for the final league match and he made this opportunity count and played a brilliant knock.

Mitchell Marsh said after the match winning effort of Maxwell that, “I was literally speechless at the other end watching an innings like that,”. He further went on to say that, “Maxi’s obviously had a lot of doubts and hasn’t been in the greatest of form, but an innings like that  really shows why he’s one of the first picked in this side. He’s just so dangerous and he can win us games like that in a few overs. I’m really wrapped for him”.

Mitchell Marsh also said that , “He actually told me we would just take (Narine) for ones and next minute he’s playing a reverse sweep for six. I absolutely loved it. Maxi’s a free spirit, you’ve just got to let him go and do what he does. And when it comes off like that, it’s unbelievable to watch,”.
