Virat Kohli On The Biggest Defeat Of His Captaincy Said: The Way We Played At Lord’s Was Worth The Defeat.

India lost in the second test against England and lost by 159 runs. Captain Virat Kohli said after this defeat – “The way we played, I can not be proud on that. For the first time in the last five Test matches, we have completely defeated. The way England played, it was natural to win. Our game was worth losing.” The first day of the match was washed day due to rain. England took just three days to defeat India and bat only once. Indian Team all out in 35.2 overs in first innings and 47 overs in second innings.
Virat said – “When you are playing, then you cannot think about the circumstances. You cannot see all these things. England’s players performed well and scored. I think our team combination was wrong.” He said on his injury that I am confident that I will be fit in the next five days. However, I have pain in the lower part of the back.
England’s Captain Joe Root said – “The victory of the second Test has reduced our tension. Our bowlers performed well. Circumstances were also in our favor, but we tried in the right direction. Johnny and Woakes performed the best. I’m very happy with the performance of Woakes.” Root also praised the wicket-keeper batsman Ollie Pope.
India is in danger of losing the series. India has to win the third Test now which is to be played on August 18, only then there will be hope to win the series. Captain Kohli’s back injury can be the reason of tension for India. If he lives outside, then the vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane can take over the captaincy of the Team in the next Test. Kohli was 37 minutes out on the fourth day of the Lord’s Test. During that time, Ajinkya Rahane took over the captaincy of the Team. Ravindra Jadeja had fielded in his place.
Karun Nair can be included in the team if Kohli is out of the next Test. Nair has scored triple centuries in the Chennai Test against England in 2016. Apart from them, wicket-keeper batsman Dinesh Karthik can be excluded after the poor performance in both the Tests. Rishabh Pant Test can be debuted in his place. Ravindra Jadeja could be part of the Team, replacing Kuldeep Yadav, who proved to be ineffective in the second Test.
