New Delhi: Indian #cricket captain #Virat Kohli wants to give rest to the bowlers who play the World Cup. He suggested this to the Board in a meeting with the Administrator’s Committee (COA) in Hyderabad. Kohli wants the fast bowlers to be rested in the entire IPL so that they are physically and mentally prepared for the World Cup. However, his proposal is less likely to support franchises.
Team India vice-captain Rohit Sharma was also present in the meeting. When COA asked Rohit’s opinion about Kohli’s proposal, he did not support it. Rohit said, “If Mumbai Indians reach the last four and Bumrah is fit, then I cannot give him rest.”
Kohli wants to give rest to Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar: Kohli advocated primarily to rest Jaspreet Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar. “The IPL will run from 29 March to 19th May, while India’s first match in the World Cup will be against South Africa on June 5. In such a situation, the team will get 15 days to rest,” said a top official present at the meeting. More fast bowlers cannot be rested in the entire season. ”
The matter related to Bhuvneswar and Bumrah: Another office-bearer in the meeting called Kohli’s proposal “weird”. He said, “For the past few years, the IPL trainer and physio team is working closely with the staff of Team India and this year will be the same, this matter is related to Bhubaneswar and Bumrah, they both can play both matches, but Not so with Mohammed Shami, Umesh Yadav, and Khaleel Ahmed, they are not even the first choice of their franchise.
