England-NZ 2nd Test Match

ENG-NZ 2nd test tournament

New Zealand enjoyed a perfect morning at Headingley as they made decisive strides towards a series-levelling victory. Joe Root had declared on the fourth evening that England still had a chance of chasing 455 but a slim chance had become no chance by the time Root was the fourth batsman out inside the first hour.

Trent Boult and Mark Craig took two wickets apiece to help New Zealand once again seize the initiative in the second Investec Test.

New BCCI Advisory Committee

new advisory committee members of BCCI

Former greats Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman were on Monday inducted into the BCCI’s newly-constituted advisory committee to guide the Board and the national team on various “progressive steps” needed for future challenges.

Sachin Tendulkar, globally respected as the world’s best batsman; Sourav Ganguly, an astute skipper who taught India how to win overseas and VVS Laxman, the elegant right-hander who gave the mighty Australians a decade long nightmare, have accepted the board’s invitation to be part of the committee.

According to a senior BCCI official, Rahul Dravid was approached, too, but he “declined the offer” citing personal commitments. It is, however, learnt that the new committee will take every major decision related to the Indian cricket team. To start with, it will nominate the new coach. The position has fallen vacant following Duncan Fletcher’s departure at the end of the World Cup.

James Anderson has proved himself as one of the most skillful and prolific fast bowlers in England’s history. His talents have been particularly apparent in Test cricket where his command of swing bowling, especially on his home grounds, has been the stuff of artistry, bearing comparison with any swing bowler in any age.His one-day career has also been more productive than at one time seemed likely as he gradually became adept at bowling in a more defensive fashion.

this is what James Anderson is capable of………..……

duniya me talent bhaut hai, par aalag hai sabka vesh”
