With the think tank like Rahul Dravid and Paddy Upton, Delhi Daredevils have started their IPL campaign in an emphatic manner at half way stage they were the front runner to make in the palyoffs, but with unnecessary changes in the playing XI they are suffering a lot, now they are in the 6^th place in the points table.

In a general phenomenon of cricketing facts teams usually don’t change their winning combination, yes there are few things which is considerable like injury or the conditions of the pitch (Spin or Pace supporting tracks) or may be some urgent occupancy of any particular player.

Delhi have played only 2 players regularly in the playing XI, Amit Mishra, Karun Nair, apart from that almost every player have changed after playing 1-2 games. I can understand that they have dropped Zaheer Khan has some niggles here and there especially with growing age but what about the other players who have been dropped after playing a match winning knock like Carlos Brathwaite hard to fathom that they have constantly chop and changed the batting order of SAMSON, PANT. Bringing in and out IYER didn’t help the cause of the team either and it also dent the confidence of Iyer.

I can understand that you have to give chance to every player but not by the cost of your game, when you are so competitive in the season not need to messed-up all the things. Now they have two games left with Hyderabad and Bangalore respectively and it will be very difficult to win those matches because both teams are in red hot form currently. Hyderabad is doing fantastic, Bangalore have picked themselves up in later part of the tournament. Let’s see what they have left in their kitty for the last two matches’ hope they will bring something positive for the team.

Now he is continuing his brilliant form in IPL too.

He has an unbelievable stats in chasing the target in ODIs and T20s. Virat Kohli has a great quality to play shots all around the wicket. The quality of stealing the singles and converting one’s into two’s is just remarkable and that is what sets him apart from the others, where other batsmen can’t even think of a single he is always ready for double and that is the testimony to his fitness, determination and appetite for runs. However some people these days continously compare him with the great Sachin Tendulkar which is quite unfair. After the match Yuvraj met a group of children and spent some time with them at the PCA stadium. During the interaction a 17-year young kid who defeated cancer asked Yuvi if he will again hit those 6 sixes, to which the southpaw (who himself is a cancer survivor) replied “You pray for me and I will hit 6 sixes again”

However, YUVI himself doesn’t know how he hit those 6 sixes, 9 years have passed since the mayhem at Durban but those 6 sixes is still count among one of the most cherished moment in the history of Indian Cricket.

Yuvraj Singh on and off the field has been a great source of inspiration for millions all round the world and there was no surprise to see that these kids also idolizes YUVI. One of the cancer survivor boy, aged 8 now, had been diagnosed with cancer when he was just 18 months old. Studying in Class 4 now, the boy said that players like Yuvraj are a great inspiration for him. ”I love cricket and seeing Yuvi in action gives me immense joy.”

Yuvraj also shared some light moments with the kids, gave them some valuable tips. Yuvi said “Disease like Cancer teaches you not to take life for granted, think of it as a blessing in disguise that you have an opportunity to live again.”

Duckworth-Lewis Method is rubbish says the Supergiants coach Stephen Fleming

Stephen Fleming the Rising Pune Supergiants coach expressed his unhappiness over the Duckworth-Lewis Method which came into play in a rain-affected game against Kolkata Knight Riders, Fleming termed the (D/L method) which is there in the game for year’s as rubbish.

“Duckworth-lewis Method is rubbish”, said Fleming as the Post match press conference started on Saturday. His actual quotes were “As soon as you get to D/L method, the game is over. We were on our way to 134-140. We were looking for 25 runs in the last 3 overs. The track was turning. We knew it will be a difficult chase with our spinners, but as soon as D/L came into play, it was pretty much game-over for us.

Fleming’s main concerns were : Duckworth-Lewis is not made for T20 cricket and it’s not suitable to the game and repeated efforts to change this rule has not worked.

He said: “I’ve been saying that for years. The others have said it as well, but there’s no point carrying on too much about it. There’s no willingness to change. It’s not made for a T20 game. It’s just ridiculous really and until it’s addressed you just hope the sky doesn’t open.We would have scrapped to 135-140, and if someone had played really well we could have gone to 150. The spinners that we’ve got, it would have been a difficult chase. As soon as we came to know the target with all the rain and wet ball, we knew it was impossible for us. he concluded”.
