Pakistani fast bowler Mohammad Amir is all set to come back in Test Cricket after almost six years against England at Lord’s. He had played his last Test in 2010 against the same team at the same venue. Mohammad Amir could get a hostile reception from the Lord’s crowd but Pakistani legend Imran Khan doesn’t think so . Imran said in a talk show, “I don’t think he will get a hostile press or reception because from what I have seen having been to England there is lot of sympathy for him because when the spot-fixing scandal took place he was just 18 or 19 and he later on also quickly admitted his guilt and apologised to everyone,”

Imran Khan also said that, “There is a general wave of sympathy for Amir and my experience says he will get positive press and response in England and this should help him perform well in the coming series,”.Mohammad Amir was only issued a visa for the series after Pakistan Cricket Board obtained the support of England and Wales Cricket Board and British High Commission and filed a separate case for his visa. Imran Khan further went on to say, “Pakistan cricket was damaged because a person who did election fixing was rewarded with a position in the Pakistan cricket board,”.

Imran Khan also said that he believes in one captain for all format. “One of the negatives of his decision making is that now we have three captains for the three formats and I look at it as a joke because how can you have continuity in your team like this, If I had been there I would have had Misbah-ul-Haq as captain in the recent World T20,” Imran Khan said. Pakistani Team will tour England for 4 Tests, 5 ODIs and a twenty-20 international.

The Wily leg-spinner from Pakistan Yasir Shah is all set to make an International come back after serving a three-month ban for testing positive in a random dope test last November. Yasir has sought the advice and help of former Australian leg spin legend Shane Warne to make an impact in the forthcoming Test series in England.

“I have watched his (Warne’s) videos and also had a chat with him on telephone because he has an excellent track record in English conditions,” Shah told PTI before the team’s departure for London on Saturday.

“There would be no better place to make a successful comeback to Test cricket than England and I am looking forward to the first Test at Lords, not only the Tests I also want to cement my place in the limited over sides,” he added.

Shah said he had always been a big fan of Shane Warne and met him in the UAE and Australia when Pakistan went there for the World Cup last year.

“I know Pakistan has produced some great leg-spinners but Warne has impressed me with his excellent record in England.”

“I am looking forward to meeting him again in England. And I am looking forward to bowling to the English batsmen in their own backyard it will be a big challenge but I love challenges,” he said.

The leg-spinner who was lucky to escape with a three month ban after pleading he took his wife’s medicines for blood pressure by mistake has so far picked up 76 wickets in 12 Tests and is considered as one of Pakistan’s main hopes in England

ZIMBABWE vs INDIA 2nd T20I PREVIEW : CONFIDENT ZIMBABWE EYEING SERIES WIN

After beating India in the first T20I by a narrow margin of 2 runs, Zimbabwe will look to seal the series in the  2nd T20I itself at the Harare Sports Club, Harare. On the other hand, Mahendra Singh Dhoni will be hoping for a better performance from his team mates to stay alive in the series.

First time in the 11 days, Zimbabwean batsmen managed to offer a sound challenge for the visitors. After the complete failure in the 3-match ODI series, Zimbabwean batsmen took the Indian bowlers and played with authority. First time in the series, Zimbabwean openers could manage to put a decent start. Elton Chigumbura who back to back got out on ducks  in the last 2 ODIs, played an explosive knock of unbeaten half century and by virtue of it Zimbabwe posted a challenging total of 170 runs on the board which was probably a par score as Mahendra Singh Dhoni reckoned that 150 was a par score on that pitch. Zimbabwe will look forward to repeat their performance in the second T20I too.

On the other hand, India’s batting performance in the first T20I was not up to the mark. All the top batsman apart from KL Rahul, could not convert their good start to a match winning effort. They will be eyeing to rectify this as well. Mahendra Singh Dhoni and co. could go through some changes as the Indian captain said in the post match media conference that Indian team was not playing with the best XI. So team management could bring back Kulkarni and Sran in the playing eleven for the do or die encounter.

So it will be interesting to see whether India manage to stay alive in the series or the hosts clinch the series in the second Twenty-20 International.

Sri Lankan captain Angelo Mathews said about the upcoming ODI series against England after beating Ireland with a massive margin of 136 runs  in 2nd ODI that we will have to give our best to beat England in the ODIs. After suffering 2-0 loss in the Test series against England, Sri Lankan team will play 5-match ODI series against England starting from June 21, 2016. Against Ireland, Sri Lanka put on a brilliant performance with both bat and ball.

Mathews said that, “We still can improve a lot in all departments. It was a pretty convincing victory today, but we need to be at our best to beat England,”. After a brilliant performance in the 2nd ODI against Ireland from the batters especially from Kushal Perera who scored a brilliant century and made a brilliant partnership of 148 runs for the first wicket with Gunathilaka (63 off 78 balls)  and Prasanna who played an explosive knock of  95 off just 46 balls with 5 fours and 9 maximum at number 3, Mathews said about this performance that,  “Perera and Danuska Gunathilaka had a brilliant opening partnership (147) and after that solid foundation it was a tactical decision to bring in the pinch-hitter and take the game forward.”

Mathews further went on to say “It was a very good wicket and a tough ask for the bowlers but we stuck to our task, “They had to bowl good lines and lengths. Having said that, after scoring 377 it was a tough ask for the Irish because they had to go at it from ball one, so we had to bowl dot balls and create pressure,”. In the 5-match ODI series, Sri Lanka will try to continue this  performance and put some pressure on English Bowlers.

After a thrilling over from Neville Madziva Zimbabwe finally could manage to win the first match of T20I series against India.  India needed 8 runs in the last over with Mahendra Singh Dhoni in the middle, but Madziva hold his nerve and restricted the Indian batsmen with his controlled line and lengths. Eventually Zimbabwe won the match by 2 runs and lead the 3-match T20I series 1-0.

After winning the toss, Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni invited the home captain to bat first. After putting into bat first, both the Zimbabwean openers got the hosts to a decent start. But once again their openers could not convert their starts in to big scores as both were dismissed in 20s.Even four of their top five batsmen could not convert their starts to a big score. Richmond Mutumbami was retired hurt in the 6th over due to a nasty blow after Jaidev Unadkat’s length delivery around his abdomen. After that, Elton Chigumbura came into the crease and he took the Indian Bowlers and played his shots all around the ground .In the death over, Chigumbura stunned Indian bowlers with his brilliant knock of unbeaten 54 off 26 balls with 7 maximum in his inning. Eventually Zimbabwe put  170 runs on the board with the loss of 6 wicket which was probably a par score as Mahendra Singh Dhoni had reckoned that 150 runs is a par score in this wicket.

First time in the tour, Indian openers were under pressure as they were chasing  a challenging total of 171 runs. On the other hand, Zimbabwean bowler Donald Tiripano started with an extra spring to his step and dismissed KL Rahul in his first ball of the over. After the damage done, Mandeep Singh and Ambati Rayudu put 44 runs stand for the second wicket and rebuilt the innings. But both the batsmen were picked up by Chibhabha. After that Manish Pandey came into action and played some outstanding shots before he got out in the 18th over. Axar Patel also got some boundaries and played a handy knock of 18 runs in just 9 balls with 2 maximum and a four before he got out in the final over. Eventually India fell 2 runs short from their victory after the brilliant final over of Neville Madziva. As expected Elton Chigumbura was adjudged Man Of The Match for his brilliant 54* off 26 balls.

Brief scores:

Zimbabwe 170/6 (Chigumbura 54* off 26 balls, Bumrah 2/24)

India 168/6 (Pandey 48 off 35 balls, Chibhabha 2/13)
